Mittens
"No. No, Bolt. That's what they do, okay? They act like they love you. They act like they'll be there forever, and then one day they'll pack up their stuff and move away, and take their love with them! And leave their declawed cat behind to fend for herself! ...They leave her wondering what she did wrong."
DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF BODY LANGUAGE
Age: 24
Face Claim: Krysta Rodriguez
Occupation: Community Cat Program Assistant
BUT ON THE WHOLE I'VE BEEN A SAINT
Personality: On the outside, Mittens comes off as a tough girl who uses sarcasm and reason to her advantage. This is true for the most part, and Mittens isn't at all afraid to voice her opinion on matters. If she thinks someone is crazy, she will state that much. Deep down, though, Mittens does have a soft side and a desire to not see people close to her be hurt. It takes a lot to win her trust, though. Mittens won't open up to just anyone. There also is a fear within her tied in to abandonment, which ties in to a lot of trust issues. After her parents abandoned her, Mittens built up a tough outer shell that made it more difficult for her to trust people. Some say she has a lot more trust for cats than she does humans.
Place of Residence: East Village
IT WON'T COST MUCH
Friends: Bolt, Penny, Rhino
Enemies: None specific
Family: Technically Bolt, Penny, and Rhino
Gang, Group or Organization: The trap-neuter-release program she's a part of, maybe?
YA POOR UNFORTUNATE SOUL
Sample Post "Oh, you poor thing... You got yourself in a bad fight, didn't you," Mittens cooed. She loved this part of the job, honestly. Working to help catch, neuter, and release these feral cats just warmed her heart to some significant degree, and helping to make sure the cats she worked with got the care they needed before they were released just was satisfying. This poor feline in question had taken a fair amount of effort to actually get to go into the necessary carrying device. She'd been keeping an eye on him after reports of how he had been hurt came to her, and eventually he'd gone into the trap and was ready to be transported. That was what Mittens was doing at that moment in time. She had moved the trap he was in to the program's vehicle, and she was driving him to the vet.
"Don't you worry about a thing, pal," Mittens said. "Where I'm takin' you, you're gonna get the best treatment. It'll be like you were never hurt. And I'll visit you and make sure you're doing well." She wouldn't have been this warm around anyone else, honestly. Mittens didn't trust humans enough with this side of herself, so the cats she worked with got to see it more often than not. She was going to make sure this one got what he needed, too.
