Fa Mulan
"When will my reflection show who I am inside?"
DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF BODY LANGUAGE
Age: 20
Face Claim: Arden Cho
Occupation: Personal Trainer
BUT ON THE WHOLE I'VE BEEN A SAINT
Personality: Free-spirited is a good way to describe Mulan. She's rebellious, outspoken, stubborn, and a tad bit clumsy. Social gatherings and formal events aren’t her cup of tea, as she finds herself stumbling over her words and struggles to fit in with a certain standard. Not exactly what one would call a traditional woman, she’s willing to go outside of societal norms, particularly if she feels that it's the right thing to do. Mulan also struggles with who she is as a person. She wants to find her place in the world, because surely she's destined for something else, but she has no idea as to what that might be.
Place of Residence: Chinatown
IT WON'T COST MUCH
Friends: Mushu, Cri-Kee, Yao, Ling, Chien-Po, Ting-Ting, Su, Mei, Khan
Enemies: Shan Yu
Family: Fa Zhou (father), Fa Li (mother), Grandmother Fa, Li Shang (husband)
Gang, Group or Organization: N/A
YA POOR UNFORTUNATE SOUL
Sample Post
After much pestering from her peers, Mulan found herself in the office of a professional matchmaker. After mere moments, she decided it was the worst idea she had ever acted upon.
She had gone out of her way to use a little - no, a lot - more makeup than usual. Eyeliner, mascara, foundation, blush, lipstick, eye shadow, painted nails, the whole nine yards. Hoop earrings dangled from her ears, and she made sure to get pretty fancy with the bun she put her hair into. She couldn’t explain it, but it just felt right to do something extra before her meeting. So, with makeup feeling heavy on her face, she sat in front of a short, middle-aged woman who was scribbling away in a journal, likely deciding Mulan’s fate right before her eyes.
Mulan couldn't understand why she felt so nervous around this matchmaker. This kind little lady's entire job was to make people happy, particularly in the romance department, yet, there was something that felt off. Wrong. Any moment, Mulan expected the warm and friendly woman (a rare thing to find in New York, that was for sure) to suddenly yell at her and reprimand her for any small thing she might have done wrong. That, or tell her she had zero chances at finding a possible courting partner.
“Mulan?"
Mulan had failed to realize that she had been zoning out. She blinked a few times at the sound of her name, finally returning to reality. She cleared her throat and tucked a stray piece of dark hair behind her ear. “Yes, miss?" Mulan responded hesitantly, voice slightly shaky. This matchmaker probably just told her the most soul-crushing thing Mulan would ever hear, and now she'd have to hear it all over again and-
“I asked you how your day was going. You seemed a little lost there, hon."
Oh. Well... Maybe Mulan needed to calm down for just a moment.
